Got a ticket for expired registration and vehicle was totaled shortly after what to do?

I got a ticket for expired regestration and the vehicle has been totalled 3 weeks later. I paid my registration but needed smog but can't get it now. What can I do? Will the ticket suspend my license if I don't pay soon (I need another car but no licence no job) I belive the ticket is close to $500 dollars without corrections and my car went to a tow yard and there fee is currently $900 by tomarrow and 45 a day plus the vehicle is totalled. This is a huge finicial burden. What to do
