Engine rebuild on v6 camaro/firebird?

I am going to be getting a 99-02 v6 camaro/firebird soon, and the first step i wanted to do in modding it was rebuild the engine. So i was wondering, what would be the best parts to use? (pistons, cams, rods, intake manifold, etc..)
